Hope through Change

Happy New Year!
That phrase has never spoken as loud as it has since this year began. So far we’ve witnessed one of the greatest events in the history of the world with inauguration of Barack Obama, the 1st African American President of the United States. What better way to celebrate this wonderful event, then during the time we honor the legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.

The Wajju family has always admired Dr. King and his vision of a “Beloved Community” free from the insidious chains of racism, violence and poverty. He fought for the equal rights of all people and worked harmoniously with others to spread the message of love. He dreamt of an amicable world where freedom rang in volumes. King’s dream along, with others like him before and after, helped to make it possible for Barack Obama, a civil rights leader turn college professor turn senator, to become President of the United States. A black man is now the “leader of the free world”, because of someone’s vision, which lives so graciously through Wajju.
This is the time for change. To change the world!

With Barack Obama being elected, we’ve seen the people of this entire planet gather a significant amount of hope and faith.

One can easily catch a train in New York City, the most diverse city on the planet, and hear people from various backgrounds telling their children that anything is possible.

The New York Times even published an article on how black people in France being inspired by his candidacy and for the first time asserting themselves culturally in their country.

At a rally in Philadelphia, Jay-Z was so eloquent as to say:
Rosa Parks sat, so that Martin Luther King could walk
Martin Luther King walked, so that Barack Obama could run.
Obama ran, so we could fly.

*Now, Wajju is standing up! Let’s all make real changes!!
